Needless to say, it was a learning experience.
I had all the fabric for this one because I had been collecting 1930's Reproduction fabric for a while but I had no real interest in the project. Then I started cutting the charm squares and drawing my sewing llines on the back of the charms and the whole thing just went together smoothly.
Thanks Carrie, for the best instructions a gal can have!
The problem really popped up when I was putting the baskets together. Those little 1/2 square triangles can twist on you when you least expect it and then it's 'seam ripper, here I come'.
I hate re-sewing.
If you see any basket that might have a triangle pointing the wrong way... don't tell me! PLEASE!
Anyway, I finally finished the piece and I'm happy with it, but I don't think I'll be revisiting baskets any time soon (maybe when I forget this traumatic experience!)
Onto the next Schnibble adventure!

I'm sorry it was traumatic...your quilt is gorgeous, though!
adorable!
I hope the trauma is short lived, and you might go back and revisit baskets!

That is a beautiful version of Picnic! I just completed a quilt top that had a zillion half square triangles that had to be oriented just so and it made me tear my hair out too. Luckily someone pointed out two entire blocks that I had turned wrong before I got the entire top together. At this point, if something is wrong, don't tell me!
Just lovely! I am sooo over baskets for awhile, too.
You Schnibble turned out great and i love the 1930s...but i can so relate ... i don't think i'll be doing this pattern ever again! Assembling those little blocks drove me nuts! Glad to know it wasn't just me:O) Have a great day!
I love your baskets and especially the 30's fabrics... you added in the perfect amount of reds (my favorites) ;)
I didn't see anything turned wrong in your quilt but while looking at the show post today of all the quilts there was one photo that the middle row right side were turned wrong - both of them :(
Love from Texas! ~bonnie
It's great! I was having a hard time with this little quilt as well, trimming all of the blocks down was hard for me to do... I am not used to being so tedious :) I really do like yours :D
It's gorgeous -- love the 30's fabric! Great choice. And, way to go on sewing the different types of baskets! I hate it when I have to hang out with my seam ripper, too.
Your Schnibble is darling. Love 30's fabrics & basket quilts. Congrats on finishing the top.
